Workshop on Estimating Gene Flow in Forest Trees
From Friday 15 May 2009
To Tuesday 19 May 2009
Contact Jarek Burczyk

Purpose of the workshop

The intention of the workshop was to cover the state-of-the art of current methods for estimating gene flow - with special emphasis to forest trees. The lectures were given by a number of highly qualified scientists with strong scientific background in the field.

Program

The workshop will be subdivided into morning and afternoon sessions.

In the morning sessions, lectures will be provided to achieve theoretical knowledge of the methodology and statistical procedures used in gene flow studies.

The afternoon sessions will take place in the computer lab to get to know specific software used for estimation of gene flow. Examples of gene flow studies will be provided for hands-on lessons using the computers. This way each participant will be able to get some training on the available software.

There will be also time for consultations with lecturers on specific topics interested for the participants.
