Genomics of Forest and Ecosystem Health in the Fagaceae
From Tuesday 10 November 2009
To Friday 13 November 2009
Contact Michele Morgante

The purpose of the conference on Genomics of Forest and Ecosystem Health in the Fagaceae was to review the status of recent genomic and genetic discoveries in the Fagaceae as they relate to forest and ecosystem health. The Fagaceae are an important group of forest trees distributed widely across the northern hemisphere. The conference focussed on three genera, Castanea (chestnuts), Quercus (oaks) and Fagus (beeches).

One of the main outcomes of the conference was the sharing and exchange of genomic resources among the European and US groups. Opportunities for cooperation between the two communities were also discussed. Participation to the conference has been supported by dissemination activity SEA4 (for EVOLTREE members).
