Governance

Different committees are distinguished within the project to handle different important aspects of the network management (view organisation chart):
 

1. The Governing Board

The Governing Board (GB) is responsible for the political and strategic orientations of the Network: overall direction of all activities (namely, research, integration, and dissemination), any modification of the work description, project budget and allocation of the EC contribution among various activities and contractors. The GB is also in charge of the re-orientation whenever necessary - entrance of new contractors and subcontractors or exclusion of a contractor, measures towards defaulting partners or ethical and gender issues.

2. The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee (ExC) is in charge of any operational measure relating to day-to-day management. It makes proposals to the MB on the Project budget and the allocation of EC financial contribution among various activities and among the contractors and any modification of the work descriptions. The ExC is responsible for making progress reports on the state of advancement of the Project to the GB and it establishes the project reports for the EC. Moreover, the ExC is in charge of collecting and integrating recommendations from the Property Use and Dissemination Committee.

3. The Intellectual Property Dissemination Committee

The Intellectual Property Dissemination Committee (IPUDC) monitors the implementation of the principles over intellectual property rights in accordance with provisions of the Consortium Agreement.

4. The Advisory Board

An Advisory Board has been set up. It is made up of two main components:

  • a Scientific Group designed to provide the consortium with advises over the scientific direction, approach and implementation of the Network.

  • a Stakeholder Group composed of project-related European industry, conservation agencies, farmers, non-governmental organisations, and associations of forest owners designed to play a key role in spreading knowledge.
