CEH relaunches as independent research institute

CEH relaunched as an independent research institute ‘ UKCEH’ on 1st December 2019.

Having previously been a component research institute of the UK government’s Natural Environment Research Council, CEH will now attain full independence and with it full control over the running and strategic direction of the institute, as well as the potential to pursue new research opportunities. UKCEH will continue to deliver impartial, world-class environmental science for a wide range of funders and to collaborate with partners across borders, sectors and disciplines.

CEH has been involved in EVOLTREE since its inception as a Network of Excellence and has been at the heart of its continuation as a European Research Group. In its new guise, UKCEH will continue to play an active role in EVOLTREE and will be pursuing ongoing research themes on the ecology and evolution of trees and their associated organisms.
