Documents: Project Description Project_Proposal
Objectives:
The project aims to study following topics:
- Describe the patterns of gene flow as observed at the stage of naturally established seedlings:
- estimates of distances and rates (dispersal curves) for effective pollen and seed dispersal
- estimates of the potential for long distance gene flow and its role in adaptation to global changes
- Assess the variation of male and female reproductive success of individual trees.
- Relate the variation of male and female reproductive success to phenotypic characters of individuals
- Compare estimates for pure beech stands and mixed stands of beech and spruce/silver fir; gene flow differences according to stand structures
- Identify differences and similarities of reproductive system among various populations (different ISS sites, different stand structures e.g. according to density, interactions with other forest tree species – e. g. competition, facilitation)
