"The 2024 Evoltree training course “Genomics of Environmental Adaptation” was organised by the WSL Birmensdorf team. During this week, we covered a wide range of genomic topics ranging from the acquisition of genomics and environmental data to the detection of potentially selective loci and estimation of maladaptation using genomics approaches. More precisely, we focused on population structure, genotype-environmental association (GEA) and genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to detect potentially selective loci, as well as genomic offset approaches to estimate maladaptation. We also compared several methods of population structure, GEA and genomic offset, discussing their advantages and limitations. The code provided to conduct the analysis is also a valuable resource. This course really helped me to gain a better understanding of these methods through many group discussions. This course was very interactive and I highly recommend it."
