Feedback by Jenni Siren

By: Jenni Siren

I had the pleasure of participating in the joint EVOLTREE and FORGENIUS Conference
“Integrative Diversity of Forest Ecosystems” held in Madrid from November 18th to 21st 2025.
During the first poster session, I presented recent results from my PhD work “Gene
expression variation underlying local adaptation in silver birch (Betula pendula). The session
provided an excellent opportunity for discussions about RNA-seq analysis for complex
datasets and genome annotation diYiculties in forest trees.
Attending this conference provided an opportunity to receive valuable feedback on my work
and meet many new colleagues working across diYerent areas of evolutionary tree research
in Europe. I particularly appreciated the diversity and quality of the talks, which provided
fresh perspectives and inspired new ideas for my own work.
I would like to thank the EVOLTREE network for supporting my participation and I agree that
this report and the attached photos may be published on the EVOLTREE website
