At the EVOLTREE–FORGENIUS conference in Madrid, I presented a poster on ‘European
beech growth responses to climate and altudinal gradients in the South-Eastern
Carpathian Mountains’. My study analyses earlywood and latewood growth and their
relaonships with climac variables across three elevaons to beer understand how
beech populaons respond to changing climate condions. These results highlight sitespecific
growth limitaons and the phenotypic plascity of beech, which are crucial for
predicng resilience and guiding adapve forest management under ongoing climate
change. Parcipang in this EVOLTREE event was an excellent opportunity to discuss
methods and interpretaons with experts in forest genecs and dendroecology, and to
build collaboraons that will strengthen future research on forest adaptaon.
