Type of par􀆟cipa􀆟on: Poster

At the EVOLTREE–FORGENIUS conference in Madrid, I presented a poster on ‘European
beech growth responses to climate and al􀆟tudinal gradients in the South-Eastern
Carpathian Mountains’. My study analyses earlywood and latewood growth and their
rela􀆟onships with clima􀆟c variables across three eleva􀆟ons to be􀆩er understand how
beech popula􀆟ons respond to changing climate condi􀆟ons. These results highlight sitespecific
growth limita􀆟ons and the phenotypic plas􀆟city of beech, which are crucial for
predic􀆟ng resilience and guiding adap􀆟ve forest management under ongoing climate
change. Par􀆟cipa􀆟ng in this EVOLTREE event was an excellent opportunity to discuss
methods and interpreta􀆟ons with experts in forest gene􀆟cs and dendroecology, and to
build collabora􀆟ons that will strengthen future research on forest adapta􀆟on.
