Prof Mike Bruford: “Conserving genomic diversity for climate resilience in a changing world”

Prof Bruford, Cardiff University, is a molecular ecologist studying demographic and evolutionary processes affecting populations, species and ecosystems of conservation concern. His research focuses on understanding the determinants of genomic diversity, population structure and fitness across species and at a variety of spatio-temporal scales. This includes study of how behaviour, movement, and social structure interact with genetic diversity in a wide range of ecosystems. A primary focus is on provision of data and recommendations to management authorities for action and policy development.
